Fluorescence Lifetime Imaging (FLIM) in Confocal Microscopy Applications: An Overview
- Read Whitepaper
Over the last two decades, steady-state and time-resolved fluorescence techniques have grown in importance in a number of research fields such as biology, clinical applications, and material or environmental sciences. The present article gives an introduction into Fluorescence Lifetime Imaging (FLIM) in the context of confocal microscopy applications. This versatile method can be used for differentiating multiple species, detecting molecular interactions, environmental effects, or characterizing novel materials all by spatially mapping out the fluorescence lifetime of the sample.
