Live Specimen Scanner for Photomanipulation - Vector

Intelligent Imaging Innovations (3i) produces widefield and confocal microscopy solutions designed for live cell imaging. Vector, the newest system component from 3i, can mount to any microscope port to perform a variety of scanning applications from quantitative photobleaching analysis to photoactivation to direct specimen manipulation techniques such as photoablation. more
Point into Confocal Microscopy

Point into Confocal Microscopy

High performance confocal microscopy can now be achieved using a white light source. This follows the launch by Andor Technology of Revolution DSD, a fully integrated system based on a Differential Spinning Disk optical system working in conjunction with an high sensitivity, Interline CCD camera Clara and controlled by an IQ work station.
Using white light, as opposed to lasers, significantly cuts the cost and brings this form of microscopy within the budget of far more potential users, particularly as this compact solution will fit the side port of any microscope. more
Tunable Optical Filters

Tunable Optical Filters

By adjusting the angle of incidence the new series of Semrock VersaChrome filters change their spectral performance to shorter wavelength. But in contrast to "normal" interference filters, there is no change in transmission intensity (>90%) and blocking specifications, they are also polarization insensitive with high imaging optical quality. The tuning can done between 0 and 60 degrees, which results in a center wavelength change of approximately 60 nm. Five different VersaChrome filters are available from 390-700nm, ideal tools for fluorescence spectroscopy. more
The Portable Digital Microscope

The Portable Digital Microscope

With the Leica DVM line, the microscopic image is displayed directly on a high-resolution monitor. The streamlined zoom optics reach difficult-to-access surfaces for nondestructive inspection of even the largest stationary parts, which could only be examined with effort using traditional microscope techniques. Leica digital microscopes not only feature high-quality optics, they also offer a wide variety of quantitative analysis options - whether 2D analysis or 3D surface measurements. The Leica DVM5000 is an integrated digital microscope system that features capacity and speed. more

Digital Imaging for Pathology and Research

Olympus has introduced an improved version of its successful dotSlide virtual slide system. The new VS110 combines microscopy seamlessly with imaging to create a virtual slide that is an exact copy of the real specimen. Generating a high resolution image of the whole specimen, this can be viewed and analyzed from the overview image at low magnification up to maximum magnification by simply zooming in. All samples can be evaluated around the world instantly and simultaneously as they are stored electronically on a central server. more
High-Resolution Brightfield Objectives

High-Resolution Brightfield Objectives

Olympus has introduced the new Mplapon series of plan apochromatic objectives, which provide a high level of chromatic aberration correction for materials imaging. Completing the UIS2 objective range, the objectives are available in 50x and 100x magnification. Developed to provide excellent brightfield imaging, including DIC, the Mplapon objectives feature numerical apperatures (N.A) of 0.95 and are fully compatible with active auto-focusing units. The high resolution capabilities of the objectives enable individual imaging and observation of points separated by only 0.35 µm. more
Laser Fluorescence Filters

Laser Fluorescence Filters

A collaboration between Cobolt and Semrock, has resulted in the development of optical filters optimized for use with the Cobolt Mambo 594 nm orange laser in fluorescence instrumentation. To realize the benefits of this new laser wavelength, optical filters that are designed with matched spectral properties are needed. Semrock has announced a number of new filters designed specifically for instrumentation based on the 594 nm laser, and ideal for excitation and detection of Texas Red, Alexa Fluor 594, and the popular new fluorescent proteins mCherry and mKate. more
Versatile High-End Microscopy
17.02.2010

Versatile High-End Microscopy

Olympus introduced a versatile, range of research microscope systems. The Olympus xcellence line covers advanced live cell techniques such as real-time high-speed imaging, TIRFM & HILO (cell^TIRF), photo control such as FRAP, FLIP & photo activation (cell^FRAP), and laser spinning disc confocal (cell^SPIN). more
