The new nano piezo-Z stages from Physik Instrumente are optimized for very fast step and settle and easy integration into high-resolution microscope applications. They feature a very low profile a large aperture, and travel ranges of up to 200 µm with sub-nanometer closed-loop resolution-ideal for leading-edge microscopy and imaging applications. The piezo stages are designed for inverted microscopes from the four major manufacturers: Nikon, Olympus, Zeiss and Leica. The low profile design of 20 mm (0.8") facilitates the integration. The large aperture accommodates microscopy accessories such as slide holders, Petri dish holders, etc.
A compact digital piezo controller improves linearity and allows fast adaptation to changing load / settling / speed requirements and simple tuning from the controlling computer. It comes with three interfaces (USB, Analog and RS-232) for seamless compatibility with different control signals. The controller is also compatible with all major image acquisition packages and comes with a wide variety of software drivers and programming examples. The use of piezoresistive sensors allows for reduced cost despite the high performance.
