On Neuroscience 2016, Zeiss has introduced two new products: Axio Observer a modular and flexible platform allowing researchers to perform demanding multimodal imaging of living and fixed specimens and Celldiscoverer 7, an automated platform for live cell imaging.

Among many great features, Axio Observer includes Autocorr, a technology that allows adaption of immersion objectives to varying sample carriers and imaging conditions. The correction of spherical aberrations results in improved image contrast, higher resolution and more efficient fluorescence detection. The new Autoimmersion option that builds up and maintains stable water immersion without traditional problems such as evaporation or air bubbles is compatible with multiple water immersion objectives in the nosepiece. Furthermore, a novel hardware focus automatically compensates for focus drift and enables long-term time-lapse imaging and demanding multi-position experiments.

With Celldiscoverer 7, you can combine the ease-of-use of an automated boxed microscope with the image quality and flexibility of a classic inverted research microscope. Celldiscoverer 7 calibrates itself, detects and focuses on your samples while the optics adjust themselves. Whether working with 2D or 3D cell cultures, tissue sections or small model organisms, you will acquire better data in shorter times with this reliable automated live cell imaging platform.
