New, Cooled, Miniatured, Infrared

Oct. 11, 2009

Hamamatsu Photonics announced the thermo-electrically cooled near IR modules. The modules, which are a further addition to the mini-spectrometer modules range, utilise a transmission grating optical arrangement to provide high optical throughput and very high sensitivity. The spectrometer modules consist of a palm-top size polychromator with integrated optical elements, an InGaAs linear image sensor optimised for the required wavelength range and a driver circuit and integrated USB interface to allow simple PC connection and data acquisition.

The new series of modules are initially offered in two ranges. The C9913GC series feature a spectral response range from 900 nm to 1700 nm using a standard InGaAs image sensor (TG-NIR-I), and the C9914GB series feature a spectral response range from 1100 nm to 2200 nm using an extended response InGaAs linear image sensor (TG-NIR-II). The new miniature spectrometer modules from Hamamatsu are ideal for applications such as biotechnology, NIR spectrophotometry, moisture measurement, in-line product inspection and many more.
