The junction between a hair cell (hc) and supporting cell (sc). Elements of the tight junction structure are exposed on the membrane fracture face (tj). The meshwork of the hair cell cuticular plate is connected to the plasma membrane all along the junctional region (arrows) with cytoskeletal elements similarly connected on the supporting cell side.
