On October 29 the Nikon Imaging Center (NIC) at the University of Heidelberg celebrated its 5th Anniversary. Initiated by Prof. Dr. Thomas Holstein, Head of the Department of Molecular Evolution & Genomics, University of Heidelberg and Dr. Jörg Kukulies, General Manager of the Microscopy Division at Nikon Germany, the NIC Heidelberg is the second of today eight core facilities located in North America, Europe, and Asia. more

Nikon Instruments Opens Microscopy Centre in Budapest

Nikon Instruments has partnered with the Institute of Experimental Medicine of the Hungarian Academy of Science KOKI in Budapest, Hungary to open the first Nikon Microscopy Centre (NMC) in Central Europe. The centre will allow neuroscience researchers access to state-of-the-art microscopy and imaging systems provided by Nikon. Nikon has made a major investment in the new centre, the total value of the equipment at the NMC is around € 1,050,000.00. more

South Korean Research Center

The medical faculty of the South Korean Yonsei University and Carl Zeiss together opened an Advanced Imaging Center on April 20. The university has equipped the new center with Zeiss microscope systems for biomedical research, including the LSM 710 and LSM 700 laser scanning microscopes. The microscope systems provide the center with excellent conditions for testing new methods of microscopy. Zeiss´s aim is to further promote research and education. more

JPK Instruments and Biozentrum Basel: imaging center opened (BioAFM technology and related techniques). JPK Instruments, in conjunction with the Biozentrum Basel, has opened a new imaging center, specialising in the use of atomic force microscopy – AFM – in the field of biological research. Three NanoWizard atomic force microscopes, developed by the company, are now available at the M.-E.-Müller-Institute for both teaching and research. more
