Temperature Gradient Influences the Crystallization Processes in Opto-Electronic Thin Films

The Laboratory of Polymer Chemistry at the Université Libre de Bruxelles is focused on research into "small molecules", namely, liquid crystalline semiconductors for organic electronics application.  Various organic semiconductors have been receiving a great deal of attention in "plastic" electronic devices such as organic photovoltaic cells, light-emitting diodes (OLED) and field effect transistors (OFET). more

Temperature Controlled

Linkam Scientific Instruments reports on work at Kingston University that heating and freezing stages are being used in thousands of laboratories worldwide. Applications may be found in just about all scientific disciplines from materials to foods, from chemistry to physics and biology. One area which continues to grow is the use in geology to study properties of the Earth. more

Linkam Optical Imaging Station

Linkam Optical Imaging Station: Heating and freezing stages have brought many benefits to scientists wishing to visualise a sample under different temperature regimes. However, sample access has usually been restricted due to the confines of a standard upright microscope. Linkam have addressed this challenge in the production of their New Optical Imaging Station. Here, the viewing optics are mounted in a fully retractable arm allowing complete unrestricted access to the sample. more
