Developing MALDI Imaging Technology for Cancer Profile

Normal and diseased tissues are complex mixtures of different cell populations. A better understanding of protein expression changes that occur during 
diseases needs sensitive and specific technologies for each of these cell types. Atomic Force Microscope: "Fountain Pen". Scientists from the Netherlands have developed a micro machined "fountain pen" to write on gold substrates and to etch sub-micron patterns on a chromium surface with molecular "ink" based on 1-octodecanethiol and a commercial etchant, respectively.
