NanoSight: NS200 Nanoparticle Characterization System Will be Launched at Pittcon

NanoSight will introduce NS200 nanoparticle characterization system at Pittcon 2011:
N200 is easy to use, has an optional blue laser to improve imaging capability, and fluorescence filters can be added when working with suitably labeled particles. Furthermore, the laser is triggered to reduce thermal issues with respect to the sample, restricting photobleaching during fluorescence imaging.   more

Hamamatsu Introduces New Fluorescence Module for the NanoZoomer Slide Scanners

Hamamatsu Photonics extends its scanning flexibility with the new fluorescence module for NanoZoomer 2.0 series:

Multiple fluorophores and brightfield imaging on the same system
Based on a combination of automated filter-wheels with up to six filter positions (excitation/ emission) and filter-cubes, Hamamatsu's NanoZoomer 2.0 is now able to scan numerous color channels, thus offering improved flexibility. more

Controlled Light Exposure Microscopy (CLEM)

Photobleaching and phototoxicity are often the Achilles‘ heels of fluorescence live-cell imaging. Controlled Light Exposure Microscopy (CLEM) is a novel, simple imaging approach that reduces photobleaching and phototoxicity 2 to 10-fold without compromising image quality. The basic concept of CLEM is that light is only used where it is needed by spatial control (pixel by pixel) of the light exposure time. Experiments show that CLEM results in a 2 to 10-fold reduction of photobleaching and phototoxicity. more

BD Biosciences: BD CARV II Confocal Imager

BD Biosciences: BD CARV II Confocal Imager. The BD CARV II Confocal Imager from BD Biosciences delivers high resolution CCD confocal imaging in an easy to use and cost effective optical package that can be attached to new or existing microscopes. High-speed multi-pinhole confocal scanning, combined with high quantum efficiency CCD cameras, allows recording of images at up to 100 frames per second. Instead of lasers, the confocal imager uses a long life arc source which allows for full-spectrum (360 nm – 700 nm) confocal imaging. more
