PicoQuant has added two laser heads emitting at 395 nm and 420 nm to its LDH Series.
Both laser heads are ideal for exciting e.g. porphyrin or phthalocyanin containing samples in fluorescence microscopy or fluorescence spectroscopy. With pulse durations as short as 70 ps, they are match the time resolution of mainstream detectors, yet at a price much lower than of mode-locked lasers or nanosecond flashlamps. The two laser heads are also available in a dual mode version that allows picosecond pulsed as well as continuous-wave operation.

Since several years, time-resolved fluorescence measurements can be performed with commercially available confocal laser scanning microscopes (LSM) that have been upgraded with a suited upgrade kit. The polarization extension for PicoQuant's upgrade kit for LSM can now also perform polarization measurements.

PicoQuant has released a new development from the field of quantum physics as a turn-key product.
PQRNG 150 is the fastest commercial photonic quantum random number generator available on the market. It generates provable randomness at high bit rates, up to 150 Mbits/s, delivered over USB, and long term statistical data quality. The quantum random number generator is based on measuring the arrival times of single photons, governed by the inherent indeterminism of quantum physics.

PicoQuant has combined its time-resolved confocal fluorescence microscope MicroTime200 with Brukers BioScope Catalyst Atomic Force Microscope (AFM). The synchronized acquisition of these two systems enables simultaneous recordings of AFM and optical images of the same sample region and makes new investigation schemes in the f

PicoQuant has introduced two picosecond pulsed diode lasers at 510 nm and 596 nm.
Green diode laser head with 510 nm
For the first time green laser light is not based on frequency conversion but directly emitted by the laser diode. The laser can work at any repetition rate up to 40 MHz and generate pulses as short as 130 ps (FWHM).

PicoQuant has invited all users of PicoQuant microscope or spectrometer to enter the image contest:
All techniques of Time-Correlated Single Photon Counting and related methods are acceptable in this contest, e.g. fluorescence imaging, pulsed excitation, laser ablation, nanosurgery or micromanipulation. All approved entries will be presented in the PicoQuant Application Gallery on the company's website. Whether tissue, organisms, single molecules or nanocrystals, any type of specimen is imaginable.

PicoQuant will introduce a yellow picosecond pulsed laser with variable repetition rate at SPIE Photonics West from January 22 to 27, 2011 in San Francisco, California.
The pulsed yellow laser is the first laser with a wavelength of 596 nm that generates short pulses below 120 ps even at variable repetition rates up 40 MHz. The short pulse width ensures a very high time resolution and researchers benefit from precise measurements.
