High-Resolution Brightfield Objectives

Olympus has introduced the new Mplapon series of plan apochromatic objectives, which provide a high level of chromatic aberration correction for materials imaging. Completing the UIS2 objective range, the objectives are available in 50x and 100x magnification. Developed to provide excellent brightfield imaging, including DIC, the Mplapon objectives feature numerical apperatures (N.A) of 0.95 and are fully compatible with active auto-focusing units. The high resolution capabilities of the objectives enable individual imaging and observation of points separated by only 0.35 µm. more

A Clean Cut

Modern molecular biomedical research activities often require the isolation and "down stream" processing of many cells in the least possible time. This requirement is particularly indispensable in the areas of genomic, proteomic and pharmaceutical research. Also crucial to these areas and many other fields, such as pathology and forensics, is the ability to maintain completely contamination-free specimens during sample preparation. Furthermore, when selecting and rejecting tissue areas, individual cells, sub cellular parts or even chromosomes of interest, accuracy is essential. more
