Super-resolution microscopy methods are key to helping researchers understand the connection between single-molecule events and the macroscopic structure and dynamics of living cells. Stochastic optical reconstruction microscopy (STORM) is one such technique that has been used successfully by Professor Zhen-li Huang’s research team at Huazhong University of Science and Technology.
This article outlines his work, and describes how he has combined a high power yellow laser (Genesis CX) from Coherent with new computational methods to increase the speed and resolution of STORM and other methods.
