Molecular imaging is rapidly moving to multimodality approaches, integrating more and more also microscopic imaging. To acknowledge this trend, the European Society for Molecular Imaging strives to integrate the themes of in vivo and molecular microscopy into existing activities of molecular imaging.

The principles of (advanced) microscopy techniques as well as their potential and complementarity for molecular imaging studies are of great interest for the imaging community participating in the EMIM 2018.

There is a lot to learn from each other and it would be great if you could contribute and submit an abstract! Deadline for abstract submission is 5 December 2017.

Optical imaging is an emerging approach to molecular imaging. Today, both invasive and non-invasive imaging methods are capable of providing information on molecular cell and tissue functions in live animals for biomedical research in preclinical drug discovery and validation, with potential for translation into the clinics. Besides macroscopic imaging like whole-body bioluminescence and fluorescence lifetime detection, microscopic approaches now provide detailed analysis on location and nature of the signal source in the tissue context and with unprecedented time resolution and detail.
We warmly invite you to San Sebastián to intensify discussion, knowledge exchange and to create a truly interdisciplinary network between the communities!
